Hotel Villa Mare

They welcomed us in the middle of the night, and everyone was very friendly. The place was beautiful, our room was clean and nice, and the view from it was lovely. Breakfast was free, homemade and tasty. Good service and a great location.

There were 12 of us, including two children under five, and the hotel made everything easy. They helped us get cabs, drove us to the train station when we couldn’t find one, and even opened the restaurant when everywhere else was closed. They really treated us like family. It was a great experience, and I couldn’t recommend it more.

I’d never stayed in a hotel without hot water before, and this was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The front desk said the problem was fixed, but we still had no hot water before checking out the next morning. At first, we thought the hotel was fully booked, then we heard there was a problem with the water heater system. They knew about it, so why were they still taking reservations? After we complained, they only said sorry. There was no compensation. This didn’t feel like a three star hotel, or even like it deserved any stars. There was no privacy either. We could hear conversations from the room next door and from people passing by our door. I’d never recommend staying here.

The room was really clean and comfortable, with a view over the ocean. It was a nice surprise to realize after booking that I actually know the hotel owner’s cousin, who owned Sicily Restaurant in Chicago years ago. It was great meeting another member of the Incandella Family.
