Hotel La Pergola

Tony and I spent four wonderful nights at La Pergola, and we won't forget the stay. The food was next level, and the limoncello spritz Fonzie made with such care and passion was the best drink I've ever tasted. Our room had a fabulous view, and both the hotel and restaurant were first class. Most of all, the staff made it such a happy place. The owners clearly value them, and they clearly love their jobs. Huge thanks to Walter, Vincenzo, Salvatore, and all the staff for taking care of everything we needed and more. You're all remarkable. We hope to return to Amalfi someday, and there's nowhere else we'd rather stay. For the price, we loved this hotel. It's about 2.5 kms from Amalfi city centre, and we didn't mind walking around a lot. The service was excellent, from reception to the bar and restaurant staff. And the espresso, macchiato, and cappuccino 😍 The breakfast was simple but tasty. If you're fine with walking, I strongly recommend staying here. A taxi into Amalfi city centre costs €30-35, which isn't too bad, though you may wait an extra 10-15 minutes. Italians don't rush. There's guest parking for €20 per night, and Salivatore was a big help getting the car into a very tiny spot. Enjoy Italy!

Dinner was one of the best parts of our stay at La Pergola. The menu draws on tradition and Mama Rita’s recipes, with food that was simple, generous, and full of flavour. We couldn't resist the homemade limoncello and took a few bottles with us. The next morning's breakfast was memorable too, especially the soft scrambled eggs, the best we've had in a hotel. After winding along the coastal roads, arriving felt like a reward. We were welcomed warmly on a quiet Sunday afternoon, with safe parking and a refreshing limoncello spritz on the terrace beside the lemon grove. The sun-warmed lemon trees made a lovely first impression. Our comfortable room had a private terrace with spectacular views, the kind of place where you naturally slow down and take it all in. Heartfelt hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and authentic food. We'd like to return.

A friend suggested this place, and although I wasn't completely sure at first, I'm so glad I booked it. The Mediterranean views from the great rooms are outstanding, and the restaurant serves unbelievably good food. Breakfast was a lovely way to start the day, with delicious pastries and other food. Everyone was friendly and the service was very good. When I come back, I'll stay here again for sure. 10 out of 10!
