Il Nido

We spent a week here and were really pleased, especially with the breathtaking view from our room. Mornings and evenings felt extra special because of it. The location was peaceful and relaxing while still close to everything we needed. The rooms were spotless, and the common areas were beautifully maintained and thoughtfully arranged. You can tell the team takes pride in their work. Parking was convenient and easy, which made coming and going stress-free.

I'm torn about this hotel. The view from our corner terrace was unmatched, with gorgeous, picturesque panoramas of the coast and hills. I've never seen anything like it. The room was nice, and the reception and breakfast area looked classy. I'm glad we got that view, but I probably wouldn't return because we couldn't get a comfortable night's sleep. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. It was close to 90F during our week, but the room stayed far too warm. The first night it wouldn't get below 80, then 77 the next, and 76 the third. Maybe it would have reached a more comfortable 70 if we'd left it running all week. We ran it 24/7 with the room card in, yet had to leave the terrace doors open at night because it was cooler outside. On the first night, a man from the front desk checked the thermostat and said it was working and needed more time. We'd set it for 70, but it never came close after three nights. When we asked again on day two, they cleaned the filter, which only brought the temperature down a couple more degrees by checkout. After a sweaty day in the sun, returning to a warm room and sleeping sweaty was difficult. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from town. The route follows a narrow two-way road with few sidewalks, so it felt a bit dangerous, though that's a feature of the location rather than the hotel's fault. The wifi signal was also really poor, affecting our phones and TV. We like having the TV on at night or playing music while getting ready, but it needs wifi to work, and reception kept freezing and dropping. There was no phone signal on the terrace either. Range extenders might help.

We had a great stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved ordering cocktails and food to our room, then eating on the balcony overlooking the ocean. It's about a 10-minute walk from Amalfi port, which makes it quiet and comfortable. With luggage, I'd strongly recommend arranging a golf cart cab to the hotel ;)
