Hotel La Bussola

Room 103 had a lovely balcony and an amazing sea view, so waking up to the Amalfi Coast felt magical. Its design was just Wow! The location was perfect, within walking distance of the harbor and city center, and breakfast was excellent, with a great selection, a lovely atmosphere, and a sea view. Hotel La Bussola is a special old building with authentic Mediterranean charm and classic Italian character. It has kept its original soul and style, while careful renovation has added modern comfort and preserved its elegant Italian roots and unique atmosphere of the 60th. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping and room service were outstanding, and everything stayed spotless and perfectly maintained. We'd happily come back to this beautiful hotel with its timeless style and genuine hospitality.

La Bussola was cosy and clean, with beautiful views and a very convenient location. There are only a few stairs at the front entrance, and the hotel is just a short walk from the ferry marina, boat tours, beach, and shops. Breakfast was included and lovely, always served by friendly staff. We also had a fantastic dinner at the restaurant. A few more vegetarian choices on the menu would be nice, but everything we ordered was exceptional. Thanks for having us!

From our room, the water looked beautiful, and everything inside was very clean with great amenities. The staff were helpful and accommodating, too. It took us under five minutes to walk into Amalfi, and the ferries to other towns were just as close. We recently stayed at Hotel Bussola and would give it five stars. A perfect base for the Amalfi Coast.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Our “superior sea view room” had its view completely blocked by trees, even though that's how it was advertised. We asked politely if a higher floor might be possible, but the front desk manager got defensive and accused us of pretending there was a problem. It felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. The WiFi also kept dropping and only worked in one corner of the room. As international travelers, we needed a reliable connection, but the response was dismissive. Instead of helping us find a solution, the manager came to our room to argue and raised her voice, making things worse. Technically, we got the room type we booked, but it didn't look like the online photos. With the blocked view, unreliable WiFi, and poor management, this was an extremely disappointing stay and nowhere near worth the price. Amalfi itself is beautiful, so stay somewhere else and don't let this place spoil your trip.
