Villa Knight

The villa is amazing and so picturesque, and the pool was just right for cooling down on a hot day. Pasquale and the team were great hosts and made sure our family trip to amalfi went smoothly. He helped arrange activities, including a beach club, pizza night at the house, and transport around amalfi and to and from the airport. Pogerola is a cute little town with a coffee shop in the square and a few excellent restaurants. The villa's location gets you away from Amalfi's crowds, but it's still just a 20-minute bus ride down or a 30-minute hike down the steps, so prepare for a workout. We had the absolute best time.

Pasquale was always available when we needed him and was very helpful and accommodating. He suggested a brilliant car service, Genna Limos, that we used every day. The only downside was that the hot water seemed inconsistent, so we all ended up taking quite a few cold showers. We stayed at Villa Knight for a week in July / Aug and loved having the whole Villa to ourselves. The views were amazing, the facilities lovely, and the pool was great. There were lots of steps, but that's what you expect on the Amalfi Coast.

We rented the place for nine people. It was quiet, with stunning views and a delightful village. There are several terraces for eating, and places to swim in the pool or relax in a hammock or swing chair. Lovely walks head straight into the mountains. The church next door dates to the 12thC. We walked down and back up the steps to Amalfi (300m), a very pretty route where we passed mules.

Pasquale and his family keep the grounds in excellent shape, and the room was very clean and came with toiletries. There's also a small kitchen where you can make coffee and keep perishables in the fridge. Since there isn't a restaurant on site, bring snacks. We couldn't use the inviting-looking pool because we were there for just one evening in May. Arriving at night, we found the entrance tricky to spot: it goes down stairs that aren't obvious from street level, and there are quite a few to descend. We stayed one night at this lovely, quiet little retreat high in the mountains above Amalfi, away from the daytime bustle. Waking up to the coast spread out in front of your balcony terrace was unforgettable. We wish we'd had more time there. Next time!
