We ate here twice and really enjoyed the food. The pizza comes from a wood oven, the pasta is very good quality, and the American coffee after dinner was great too. The waiter and “the nonna” were very friendly and attentive. This is THE Italian restaurant where you have to eat.

UPDATE, 2025 03-13! The place was packed, and I sat near the payment area. Everyone I heard had something to say about how amazing their pizza was. My favorite is La Segugio, with truffles, sausages and porcini mushrooms. So good!!! Gori is a wonderful family owned secret in the quaint town of Ameglia, and a great base if you like hiking. There are lovely trails most tourists never see because they aren’t on Rick Steve's path. Bocca di Magra is 5 minutes away, with a lovely port and gorgeous views of the Carrara mountains. Montemarcello makes a great hike, with the best focaccia panini waiting at the top and views of Porto Venere and beyond. Sarzana has cobblestone streets and is a shopper's delight. And if you like Gelato, you must go to Biaggi for the best on the world! Giacomo, the owner of Gori, is always smiling, warm and attentive to guests' needs. The hotel has only 9 rooms, and they’re clean and spacious. His mother, Graziella, runs the restaurant and really enjoys getting to know her guests. She takes great pride in her dishes and deserts. Yuri never disappoints with his tasty, creative pizzas. We loved our stay and highly recommend it!

The dishes were amazing, and the pizza was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. Friendly staff, perfect tiramisu and coffee. If you have time, try the fish degustation menu for 23 Euro. Such good quality food, with nice wine.

We had several meals at Hotel Gori during our week in Bocca di Magra, and it became our favorite place to eat on the vacation. The Italian food was excellent and the service very good. We’d highly recommend it!
