The area has walking routes for hikers of different levels, especially around Mount Murlo and its lush botanical garden at the top. Mount Murlo is really a hill about 400 meters high, with views across the peninsula between the Gulf of Lerici and the Magra River mouth at Ameglia. The apartments are in a row of terraced houses, each with its own garden. The corner unit at the back has a bigger one. They’re beside, or possibly within, the Montenarcello-Magra park, so it stays cool even on especially hot days. The buildings are recently built to a high standard, away from the main road, in a tiny village setting that’s very quiet. Fiumarella is the easiest beach to reach by car. The beaches there are spacious and well organized, and perhaps because it was early September, they weren’t crowded at all. I’d also recommend Bagno San Marco for a meal, especially the fried seafood.

Fantastic apartment. It’s the best one I’ve stayed in: clean, elegantly furnished, and stocked with everything you might need when arriving at someone else’s home. It’s fresh inside, and there’s a small garden with a table, chairs, and sun loungers.
