A lovely hostel, with dorm rooms and a shared kitchen. The host was very friendly, and there’s a nice garden with a bar. The village is beautiful, though tiny, so you’ll need a car to get around.

The four showers were great, and the bathrooms held up well despite there being so many beds. There are plenty of beds, but the kitchen is really more of a small spot for breakfast or snacks. It has several coffee makers, a big kettle, jam, and packaged pastries from the owner. For a longer stay, you’d need to plan your outings and activities carefully. A comfortable, welcoming place to stay between excursions.

The Ostello was warm, and the bathroom was clean, but the hostess was incredibly unfriendly. Her distance estimates were way off, saying places were 5-10 minutes away when they were actually 50. She told me to walk to the train station alone at 7 am in winter, and I ended up covering about 3.5 km through the fog. Her recommendations were terrible. Orta San Giulio in the off-season was horrible and deserted. Don’t come then!

Everything was very clean, and the hostess was great, though she was only around briefly in the mornings. It’s a good spot but far from the action, and as a woman traveling alone, I felt a bit uneasy.

The beds were comfortable, and the hostel is central, with bars and restaurants nearby. We also got a generous breakfast and friendly service. Great view too. Perfect stay, highly recommended.
