Bellavista

The hotel staff were genuinely friendly and quick to help. When we asked about renting a boat, they had a reservation arranged in under five minutes and helped us avoid the usual tourist traps. Evenings were lovely too, with a cocktail at sunset in an intimate setting. Bellavista Hotel has a beautiful, authentic view and a charming mid-century feel. The ceramic floors and tasteful furnishings give it much more character than the average modern hotel, with a clear touch of Gio Ponti inspiration for anyone who notices that sort of thing. The rooms are simple but spacious, pleasant, and have a hot tub. Breakfast is fairly basic and could offer more variety, though the view from the table makes up for a lot. The front garden is lovely, while the back garden could be better maintained. It’s a good choice if you want to be near Anacapri’s center and enjoy a family-style atmosphere with astonishing sea views. To me, it has more character than the 3 star Capri hotels that charge more without offering much extra.

The three ladies at reception made our stay. They were so nice, handled every request with a smile, helped us get around, and shared tips about the area. I’d give the hotel five stars for the service, location, and beautiful surroundings, with amazing views from every side. This was my second trip to Capri, and I chose to stay here again. I don’t understand the three-star rating. The hotel looks even better than the photos, it’s very clean, and it’s more beautiful in person than I expected. Some rooms have also been newly renovated. I’d highly recommend it if you’re visiting Capri. It felt like a second home.

We left the hotel early and cut our plans short, giving up our stay in Capri altogether. The room was so uncomfortable in the high temperatures because there was no air conditioning. When we asked for help, staff brought us a dirty fan and said the temperature was controlled outside the room and nothing more could be done. For what we paid and what we expected from accommodation in Capri, this was unacceptable. I was very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend the hotel if you need good ventilation, climate control, or helpful service.
