IL Giardino Dell'Arte - Guest House

Franco, his daughter Aurelia, and granddaughter Francesca were amazing hosts. Franco helped us arrange great island experiences at good prices, and laundry was available if needed. They also picked us up and dropped us off at the piazza where the buses stop for check-in and check-out. People say it’s hard to get to, but it’s up on a mountain, so that comes with the location. If that doesn’t suit you, don’t book it.

We stayed two nights at Il Giardino dell’Arte and found it peaceful while still close to local attractions. The staff were friendly and ready to help. Breakfast on the terrace came with a breathtaking view, and the rooms were clean and lovely. A charming, comfortable place that I’d highly recommend.

I took my mother for a mother-son trip last September, and we had an amazing time. Franco and his daughters were warm and often chatted with guests. Franco speaks English, French, and Spanish as well as Italian, which he used with us. The hotel has lots of class, much like its owner and daughters, and each room has its own decor and patio. There are porcelain paintings along the walls, and the garden has figs, pears, grapes, olives, and plenty of other plants. The gazebo view is breathtaking. It’s in Anacapri, around a 7-10 minute walk from the nearby piazzas. A path behind the hotel goes down the back of the island to Grotta Azzurra, taking about 45 minutes to an hour depending on your pace. I’d love to return, and think it would be a perfect honeymoon spot. I’m sure you won’t regret visiting.

With just five cozy rooms, Il Giardino Dell'Arte feels like a quaint garden home, and the Savastao Family treats guests like relatives. The breakfasts and dinners were a real treat, with fruit from the garden, pastries, bread, cheeses, and homemade dishes. The raviolis were the best I’ve ever had, and that pomodoro sauce was so good I wanted to lick the plate. It’s a jewel in the comunale of Anacapri, at the top of the Isle of Capri. If you’re traveling to Capri, staying here is a must! Kindest regards, Leonard
