Villa D Alessandro

The room was damp, the AC didn't work, the fridge wouldn't get cold, and we found a puddle of moldy water outside the hot tub. There was no hot water either, and dog poop at the entrance. Staff were rude, communication was poor, and the location was terrible. Transportation was hard to find and a real problem throughout. We were accused of using facilities in other rooms when we hadn't. The property was advertised as private, but people walking by could see us. The owner's wife came into our room unannounced more than once, including at 8:30 in the morning while I was undressed and my friend was getting ready, and again while we were in the hot tub at 9 pm. There was no restaurant, spa, or convenience store on site, despite the listing saying there was. When we asked about them, we were told to walk 15 minutes to the bus station and then take a 12 minute bus ride. For the on-site restaurant question, we were given the number for a restaurant in the main plaza, a 35 minute walk uphill, and when we called, it was only open from 7-10 pm. We booked a boat tour through the property and then waited two hours at the port for pickup back to the villa. We booked transportation for 10 am, confirmed and paid for it, then were told they were busy and could do 9 am instead. When we asked about the amenities, the owner hung up on us in frustration. At arrival, we were told the only option was to pay them to bring us up to the property, so we decided to walk. When I noticed we'd arrived at the wrong location they'd given us, they were annoyed and blamed us. We were also forced to pay a check-in fee.

The owner was friendly and kind, and everything was clean and beautifully maintained. We loved our stay. The private garden and jacuzzi were perfect for relaxing day or evening, and the view was stunning, especially at sunset, when it felt peaceful and romantic. 10 out of 10! I can't understand the low rating on Google.

We were really disappointed, especially after seeing the photos. We expected a villa with a jacuzzi on the balcony, but ours had no window and the jacuzzi was 20 m outside. There were ants on the bed and hair on the sofa bed. No breakfast was included, just some packets of biscuits. The owner offered pickup for 40 Euro, then arrived an hour late and blamed us for going to the wrong meeting point. When we left, we paid 50 Euro for a ride to the pier, and again he was late, this time by 20 minutes. So insincere and unprofessional.

We had a great hot tub with a view over the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius, and there was a staircase down toward the blue grotto area where you can swim in the ocean. We also enjoyed the daily walk to town, about 1.5km from Anacapri, up steep but beautiful streets. Genny and the staff were friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. It was a wonderful experience with the place and with Genny.
