Agriturismo Bio-Melampo

Perched up on a hill, the setting is gorgeous and very calm, with the Gran Sasso, the Sibillini Mountains, and the Monti della Laga framing the view. Rita looked after us so well. After a long trip, we had dinner made with authentic ingredients that were prepared really well. The place itself is simple, spotless, and very well cared for.

Our room had everything we needed, and we loved unwinding on the terrace beneath the stars. The house sits in lovely countryside, just two minutes from the center of Ancarano. The hostess is warm and charming, always ready with suggestions, and she makes delicious cakes for breakfast. It's a great base in this area, between the beautiful Abruzzo hills and the sea, with the Marche region very close by. Paola and Simone.

From this little village, you can head off in any direction. Up in the hills, it's a peaceful spot to rest and watch the colors change at sunrise and sunset. Everything was clean and tidy, and breakfast was organic, with almond cake and coffee. The owner is proud that she doesn't use chemicals on her precious olive groves and land. The price is negligible.

The owner was very kind and helpful, and the price seemed fair for what was offered. The property is reasonably well maintained, though my room wasn't the best. I found a few spiders in there, and there was no air conditioning. In the hottest months, even with a standard portable fan, getting a decent night's sleep was almost impossible.
