Le Relais du Lierre

We loved this place on our first visit, which makes this stay such a letdown. We booked through booking.com, then tried email, phone, WhatsApp, and even reached out through their Airbnb profile before anyone replied. They said they get too many messages and are too busy to answer calls. For a small boutique hotel, that left us feeling unwelcome and unwanted. I’ve never had that experience with much larger, busier places. The room’s air conditioning wasn’t effective enough for my partner to sleep well, and I heard other guests mention the same problem. Breakfast was just one egg and a piece of cheese each. When I asked for more, the woman said firmly that she wouldn’t allow extra per person. Since it isn’t a buffet, you have to ask for each thing, and her superior manner made it feel like every request was a huge favor. We don’t want to return.
