The old sheepfold has been turned into a really comfortable room, and hearing how Mr. Paolo restored the place, including its farming and livestock work, made the stay even more memorable. Mrs. Giovanna prepared honest, excellent food from ingredients produced on-site, including the lamb. We tried Orecchiette with turnip tops, Capunzi with cardoncelli mushrooms, chicory and broad beans, pecorino, and grilled mixed salad. We spent three days there in April, using it to visit Castel del Monte, Trani, Altamura, and Barletta. The quiet drive through the Murge mountains was a pleasure too, with green and yellow fields, perhaps wild fennel. We felt looked after and welcomed, and found a rare sense of peace. It was the kind of complete experience we’ll remember fondly, especially if you want to connect with local culture rather than rush through a visit. 🥇🥇🥇 😉

The outdoor space has a lovely, distinctive feel, with stone features, grass, plants, and friendly animals. We had a wonderful Easter Monday lunch here. The welcome was warm and simple, and the food was excellent, with a menu rooted in Murgia tradition.

Dinner and breakfast were both generous and really good, and the family running the place was wonderfully kind. We stopped here after visiting nearby Castel del Monte. It’s a beautifully restored sheepfold, and I’d highly recommend staying at this masseria.

We had a weekend stay with our three children, including two babies who were 9 months old. The welcome was warm, and the staff were attentive and polite. Our room was clean, and the animal area and playground were nice. The trail could use a little improvement, since it felt very natural, but it was still beautiful. A lovely place for families. We’ll come back.
