There’s a good wine selection, and the location is great. The food brought back things I thought I’d lost in the shadows of my youth. They make pasta in-house, as is quite usual here in Tuscany, and their own-bred poultry is also very good. They even have a rare kind of poultry, mute ducks. Worth a detour!

The food came out quickly for all 11 of us, and everyone enjoyed it. We had a family dinner here, with a lovely view from the hillside. The staff were very helpful with those of us who don't speak Italian.

The food was freshly made and reasonably priced, and we had a lovely meal tonight. Staff were sweet and spoke good English, which made things easier. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

The rooms are comfortable, clean, and kept very tidy. The restaurant is very good too, especially for meat and vegetables. Locanda del viandante is also ideally placed for enjoying the scenery and visiting Anghiari and the Rognosi Mountains.
