B&B Villetta San Giorgio

The villa sits in a lovely, peaceful spot, but there was no privacy. We were told it was exclusive, yet our group could only use the first floor, with three bedrooms for up to eight people and one bathroom. The owner’s father lived downstairs, eating and sleeping on the sofa by the entrance. He kept track of when everyone came in, complained about everything, and even went upstairs to check that things were in order. I was glad we only stayed one night. If I’d known, I’d have driven a few more kilometers and chosen somewhere else.

The house is in a good location, and it’s a nice, clean complex with friendly staff. We only found out after arriving that the owner’s father would be using the ground floor. Since there were seven of us, that meant no kitchen or second bathroom downstairs. We also couldn’t store the water and groceries we’d bought. He was kind, but very focused on saving electricity and reminded us several times to turn off the lights, like Checco Zalone's aunt in the movie 😂. I can still picture him asking me to switch one off, always politely. Breakfast was missing too. For a B&B, we expected at least coffee or a packaged snack, even during COVID, but got nothing. I’m unsure about coming back now that I know only the upper floor is available.

We spent lunch standing on our room balcony, drinking warm water we’d bought ourselves, because the kitchen was occupied by the owner’s father. He lives downstairs, and we were told when we arrived that we couldn’t use that part of the house. That meant no kitchen or refrigerator, one bathroom shared by seven people, and no privacy day or night. If we came back late, we might find him asleep on the couch. He wouldn’t even offer coffee in the morning, and he scolded us for leaving a light on or making a mess. A real Daddy. The property itself is in a quiet, relaxing complex, and he showed us the two double rooms and one triple room upstairs. But with all due respect, I wouldn’t return for anything in the world. Stay away.

There’s no breakfast, despite the place calling itself a B&B. Three rooms share one bathroom, and the whole setup is poor quality. A disaster, avoid it. Too bad there’s no zero-star option.
