Alp Apartments - Xavier

We came to go biking, and the cable car station is easy to reach by bike. The apartment was roomy and clean, the staff very friendly, and the location right in the old town was lovely.

Right in the centre, and really nice and clean. Good place.

The two bathrooms were spotless, and the kitchen had everything we needed. I spent 10 days in Xavier2, a spacious, clean, and welcoming apartment, and found a genuinely unexpected welcome pack when we arrived. Customer service was very prompt, and we were thrilled with the stay. It was hot, but opening all the windows in the evening made things comfortable, and I didn’t really notice the lack of air conditioning. The wooden floor could use some work: the slats have cracks that are impossible to clean, some are split in ways that might be a problem with barefoot children, and they creak a bit. Even so, I think I’ll stay there again next year.

The furnishings are modern and good, and there’s lots of room despite the apartment’s age. We enjoyed hiking in Courmayeur, about a 50-minute drive away. The central location wasn’t entirely clear to us beforehand, and in principle the place is great, but the heat made the stay difficult. It was between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius, with no air conditioning, so we had to open the windows or use the fan. Open windows meant noise at night and from 6:30 am: street cleaning, garbage collection, buses, and people. With them closed it was quiet, but almost unbearable from the heat. The floorboards are very noisy, with wide gaps and loose boards that creak. Parking is difficult, and free only at night.
