Hotel Unterrain

The service was good, though not quite top-notch. Rooms and shared areas are very clean and well cared for, and the location is good. Recommended.

I only went to the pizzeria for dinner, not to stay at the hotel. The "Greca" won me over, and the pizza was nicely made and tasty. The parking area outside is very large. Service started off efficiently, but after that we were left to manage on our own. Nobody asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, so we had to get up if we wanted anything else.

The pool among the vineyards is a lovely feature, although its water was colder than expected. We were told there had been heating problems. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere felt family-friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by the value for money, with spotless, clearly recently renovated rooms and an excellent breakfast with everything you need.

The pool had skylights and was nice to look at, but the water was cold. Breakfast was decent, especially the chocolate cake, and the pizzeria was okay, though closed on Wednesdays. We paid more than we felt the place offered. When we arrived at 5 pm, the blinds at the restaurant and reception were closed, and we had to ring the bell. That wasn't a welcoming start. Our requested quiet room was on the second floor, with a sloping ceiling and tiny balcony, directly over the pizzeria and beside a busy road. The room and bathroom felt dated, and the exterior woodwork needs updating.
