Club Hotel Saraceno

Hotel Saraceno was a wonderful stay: it's right on the beach, with breakfast overlooking the water, a beautiful large pool, delicious food, and friendly staff throughout. The entertainment and kids club were a big plus for us. Thanks to Roberto and his team, and especially Cosimo, who was amazing with our child and made the holiday special. He created brilliant memories and even took him sailing for the first time. I'd highly recommend staying here. Thanks to everyone, from Ed, Julia and Leo.

The hotel feels like a little village, with beautiful gardens and a lovely atmosphere. Our renovated room was clean and serviced daily, with fresh towels. The staff were friendly, and there were plenty of sunbeds at the beach and pool. The pool itself was large, clean, and pleasant. The food was delicious, but wasps kept trying to get at our plates during breakfast, so we couldn't really enjoy the meal. Our minibar was also almost empty, with just one bottle of water, and it wasn't replaced after we drank it.

The beach, swimming pools, and buffet were the highlights for us. The pools and beach were lovely and well kept, the setting was beautiful, and the buffet had a good range of fresh food for different tastes. The room layout was awkward for a family: the entrance opened straight into the parents' bedroom, and the bathroom had only a glass door, so there was no real privacy. We were also disappointed by the teens' club. Other than a brief 30-minute boat trip, the regular activity was water polo, with kids of all ages mixed together in a chaotic, unstructured group. For older children, the hotel doesn't offer proper kids' or teens' activities, despite how it is marketed. Families expecting a range of organized, age-appropriate entertainment are likely to be let down. Water sports were frustrating too. Some equipment was meant to be free in the afternoons, but windsurfing gear was often unavailable. The advertised free lessons seemed more like a way to sell private sessions, and the instructor wasn't very friendly or engaging. We were surprised that pedalos cost extra, since that wasn't made clear upfront. It felt as though guests were charged at every turn. Given the remote location, with little appeal in the surrounding area, we expected more from the hotel itself. It simply wasn't good value for the money. At this price, the hotel should do more to provide a complete, satisfying stay.

Even arriving around midnight, we were welcomed kindly and quickly taken by golf cart to our room. Staff were friendly and helpful from the start, and the whole place had a relaxed, positive feel. Everything was clean and well cared for. There was plenty to do each day, though we never felt pushed to join in. The animation team made things more fun, especially Roberto, the animation leader. He knew how to engage with guests without overdoing it and led the team with ease and professionalism. The activities were well planned and enjoyable. The pools were clean and spacious, and the sea was clear and warm, with no jellyfish at all. It felt like swimming in a huge natural pool. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. This was one of the best holidays we've had, and we'd love to return.
