Camping Zoo

The facilities and location are amazing. Everything was clean and organized, and my kids, 5 and 7, loved the pool, climbing, stream, and the free-range goats and sheep walking past. But from the start to the end, the staff felt fairly unwelcoming. We were uncomfortable during our stay and found it hard to interact with them. It was still enjoyable, but we left thinking we'd probably look elsewhere next time instead of coming back.

The free pool and sauna are a nice bonus, and the showers and shared areas are kept clean. There's a small shop with the basics. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by steep hills with lovely views, close to the river and out in nature.

We felt at home here and will definitely come back soon. The camp is in lovely surroundings and works well for trips, especially cycling. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The equipment was clean, there was soap in the toilets, hot water in the bathroom at all times, and hairdryers in the showers. The children's playground is very well equipped, the restaurant is very good, and the shop has fresh pastries every morning. Our only downside was that we couldn't leave at night because of the quiet hours. They'd told us this at check-in, but at other campsites we've usually been able to park by the entrance or somewhere nearby. Here that wasn't possible, so we had to wait until 8 am.

The campsite itself has a nice atmosphere, plenty of space, and clean facilities. But our stay was spoiled by how we were treated. We arrived around 8 PM and asked when to pay. The evening staff said to pay in the morning, so we chose a pitch, made dinner, and went to bed thinking everything was fine. In the morning, a “control” card was on our car. A different staff member, a middle-aged woman with a blonde bob, came to the pitch and accused us of not checking in properly. I calmly told her what the evening staff had said, but she interrupted me and said, “That is not true.” She called me a liar outright. At reception I said her behavior was inappropriate and disrespectful. She said, “We’ll see what the evening staff says,” with no apology, just more suspicion. An older staff member was more respectful and apologized for her colleague. Even if there was a misunderstanding, it would have been better to speak to us politely rather than assume bad intent. Accusing paying guests with no malicious intent of lying, without any reason, is unacceptable. It ruined my morning and made us feel completely unwelcome.
