Parking was very limited, and there was no fridge or iron in the room. The ceiling fan had a thick coating of dust, which went flying everywhere when we changed its direction. There were also large gray and black areas on the floor, so I’m not sure why staff were so rude about the bike being dirty. We heard a dog barking for hours every day. There were some quiet moments, but this isn’t a place to escape the noise. The views are mind-blowing, though the mountain does all the work. After the bike argument, we felt uncomfortable around the two main women working there each day. The looks and general atmosphere made us feel unwelcome. It’s a shame, because I arrived thinking this place was an automatic 10. We stayed four nights on a 45-day trip that started in the UK and went around Europe, and we’ve stayed in much less expensive places with incredible service. I had a problem with staff over bringing my road bike into the room. I was new to traveling in this country and didn’t know that was an issue. They chose to tell me by yelling from across the yard in a very rude way, but I carried it into the room anyway. The next day, I tried speaking to the same staff member and she was sarcastic, cut me off, raised her voice, and seemed annoyed again. Her reason was that bikes are “dirty.” When I asked whether I’d have to put my shoes in a bag after a hike, she had no answer. I understand now that road cyclists often use bags when bringing bikes into rooms, because a bike garage doesn’t work for us when someone can remove $3,000 wheels in seconds. Staff also seemed bothered when I asked for extra shampoo and a towel, and again when I asked for two. It came across as if this place relied on the stunning views instead of good service.

After a day of sports, this is a lovely place to come back to for a rest. It’s peaceful, surrounded by nature, and the rooms were perfectly clean. The garden is beautiful, and breakfast was excellent, with fresh local products. The staff were friendly and helpful and took great care of guests. Arco old town and the local beach are both within walking distance. We stayed a week and definitely want to return.

The rooms were super clean and spacious, and breakfast had a good variety and was delicious. There’s good parking, and the price felt reasonable for what the hotel offers. It’s a five minute walk from Arco center and a 10 minute drive from the center of Lake Garda. The reception stays open until midnight for check-in. There’s no air conditioning in the rooms, which can be uncomfortable if you spend the day inside, though at night the temperature drops and you don’t need it. It’s certainly worth recommending. Sometimes you can get a better deal by booking through the hotel website.

The best parts were the welcoming, kind staff at reception, breakfast, and housekeeping. Thank you to all of them. This is a one-star hotel, with no elevator, air conditioning, fan, insect screens, TV, or minibar or fridge in the rooms. It got very hot and humid inside. Guests had to sleep with room doors and balcony windows open, which meant noise from the nearby clock tower every 15 minutes and mosquito and insect bites. The only TV was in the lobby. Room sizes were 15 m2 for a single, 18-19 m2 for a double or twin, and 22 m2 for a triple. Rooms around the building had balconies or terraces facing the street, mountain, and castle via Carolina Caproni Maini; the pool and nearby CampeggioArco-Amsa; the school on via dei Legionari Cecoslovacchi; or the neighboring house. The outdoor pool was open 08:00-21:00 and had pool tables and loungers, but no sun umbrellas. There was a garden with trees and grass. WiFi was free with a strong, reliable signal in the rooms. Bike parking was underground. Free parking was available in the hotel courtyard, on the street via Carolina Caproni Maini in front of the entrance gate, and near the school during summer vacation when the school was locked. Bikes could be rented, and Arco city center was a five minute walk away. The daily buffet breakfast, with fresh fruit and vegetables, ran 07:00-10:00. The self-service bar was open during reception hours, and charges were automatically added to the room bill. The front desk was open daily from 07:30-23:30. City tax was EUR 2.00 per person, per night.

A great base for visiting Lake Garda.
