Alessandra, the owner, was very kind and helpful when I spoke with her by phone. The woman who handed over the keys, whose name I can’t remember, was also kind and gave me all the information I needed. The two-room apartment is quiet, charming, and well maintained, on the third floor of a building with an elevator. Its entrance is a little hard to spot. It’s near Arezzo train station and not far from the city center.
The location was the one good point: it’s close to the center and train station, with shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. We were very disappointed. Over our four days, we had hot water only on the last day. We had to heat water in a small kettle, which was very inconvenient with a small child. It was noisy in the evenings and early mornings, there were cobwebs on the walls, and the floor had a very dirty old carpet. At this price it might be acceptable, but we chose it because of the reviews, not because it was cheap. One well-known website gave it 9.1 out of 10, so I just don’t understand why the scores are so high.
The apartment was comfortable and the location excellent. Breakfast was a bit limited, though. I stayed there two years ago and it was better.
A welcoming place, just a stone’s throw from the station, at an acceptable price.
A centrally located house in Arezzo, close to the station. It works well for couples.
