Sette Note Guest House

We felt right at home in this lovely apartment. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and there’s an elevator and air conditioning. The location is perfect, right in the center of Arezzo, just a stone’s throw from the train station. We walked everywhere.

The cleaning lady came straight into our bedroom without warning, then did it again about half an hour later. I had to tell her that this was completely unacceptable. That was the worst part of a stay that was already extremely disappointing. We paid €360 for two nights, but the room and service were nowhere near what I’d expect at that price. A strong sewer smell came from the bathroom, and we had to leave the windows open constantly despite the cold. The room was dated and neglected, in a building undergoing complete renovation. Scaffolding even stopped us from opening the shutters. Several sockets were broken or didn’t work, and a light bulb was out. They replaced it, but should have checked everything before guests arrived. The shower edges were encrusted, and the bidet was loose and moved around, which felt unsafe and poorly maintained. The mattress was so hard it seriously affected our sleep. There wasn’t a coffee maker or proper kettle in the room. They were available in the shared living room, but there was no kitchen, fountain, or easy way to get water. Even that small issue made the asking price harder to understand. I’d booked Sette Note B&B in Arezzo, but I’d never stay there again.

She was rude when it was cold and insisted we didn’t know how to use the remote control. After we left a one-star “comfort” review on Booking.com, the owner even messaged us on WhatsApp. She said we were ahead of schedule and hoped never to see us again. All I can say is 👎.

The owner was incredibly kind and friendly, and the B&B is in a very handy spot, close to the train station, bus stops, and lots of attractions. The rooms are bright, heated, clean, and welcoming. There’s a small kitchen for making coffee or keeping food in the refrigerator, plus a small elevator to save you carrying suitcases up the stairs. Highly recommended. If I come back to Arezzo, I’ll stay with her again.
