The garden and pool were a real highlight, with plenty of space to play, lounge, and eat. The house was clean, spacious, well equipped, and lovely, and the owners were kind enough to surprise us with a birthday cake. But the mattresses made the first two nights miserable. They were new, as we were told, yet some were hard and others were so thin I could feel the springs against my ribs. We tried the couch, but that room had no air conditioning, so we ended up working around the different beds. I was exhausted during the day, and I travel a lot, but I can't remember sleeping this badly on a vacation. I can't recommend the villa until the mattresses are replaced. Upgrade them all to something decent and this would be a five-star stay.

The pool was clean and spacious, with lots of loungers and umbrellas, and the big tables indoors and under the canopy let all 13 of us eat together. We spent a week at Villa Cangeli with friends, and the place was beautiful, tidy, and well cared for, with plenty of room both inside and out. The kitchen had everything we needed. The owners were friendly and quick to communicate, too. A thoroughly positive stay, and I'd recommend it without hesitation.

Plenty of room and four kitchens. The bathrooms were clean, and the outdoor seating was excellent. The villa is old but works well; the indoor seating could use an update.

The pool was fabulous and spotless, and the villa had every comfort. It's a beautiful 19th-century place in a charming, pleasant setting.
