Villa Ghiandai

A clean, welcoming place to unwind while visiting Arezzo. I'd definitely recommend it.

The quiet setting made it easy to completely unwind, though getting around does mean having a car. The center is only 10 minutes away by car, and Esselunga is also a 10-minute drive. There are plenty of good places to eat nearby, plus woods to walk in and a riding stable next door for a stroll. Even when it was 34°C during the day, the evenings felt lovely and cool. There was lots of green space for our dog, too. We stayed nine nights with my partner and dog, and the word that kept coming to mind was freedom. The owners were welcoming and very helpful. The apartment had a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom with a shower, and the outdoor porch had two loungers, a dining table and a spectacular view over the hills. A few steps from any apartment took us to the lovely pool, with the hot tub at 36°C a little farther along. Both were open around the clock. There’s also a well-kept spa and laundry service. Villa Ghiandai was such a wonderful find. I couldn’t come up with a single downside, and I almost hate writing this because I’d rather fewer people knew about it, hahahahah. Wonderful!

We spent four days there just before mid-August, a family of four with two children, and absolutely fell for Villa Ghiandai. It’s set amid spectacular nature, and the views from the apartments and across the property are exceptional. Everything was spotless, and the design and care are clear both indoors and outside. The heated pool and hot tub were always open and such a treat. The wellness center was closed because of Covid restrictions, which was a shame, though if it had been open we might have struggled to leave. Thanks to Claudio and Simona for looking after the place with so much care. We’ll definitely return.

The owners were so hospitable, polite and helpful, and everything was new and very clean. The view is breathtaking, and there’s a lovely barbecue area, plus free washer and dryer use and bicycles. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the bathroom is too. Gorgeous villa, highly recommended. 10 stars!
