Hotel Cortese

I've just finished my first day here and will be staying another week. The staff are really good, and it's very quiet. Breakfast has plenty of choices. Parking is fine. There's a supermarket with everything you need 500 meters away. I booked a twin room with a balcony, TV, a big wardrobe, a nice bathroom with a bidet, a safe, and a small fridge. The bed is big, fine, and comfortable.

Cortese has handled the Covid-19 situation really well, balancing safety with comfort. Breakfast can be eaten outside on the quiet terrace. You choose what you want from the extensive buffet, served to you, and there's also a menu with fresh ham, cheese, eggs prepared in different ways, toast, and more. Dinner is served outdoors too. When the weather doesn't allow that, it's indoors in a large room with plenty of space between tables and the big doors and windows open to the terrace for ventilation. The staff gave us helpful tips on places to visit. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. Our room was spacious, clean, and modern, with a thermostatic shower valve that kept the water at a comfortable, steady temperature. Outside, the garden is well maintained, with flowers, a fountain, and a small pool. A lovely place to relax. It's a quiet location, and because the hotel is spacious without having too many rooms, it felt like a great place for a peaceful, comfortable vacation with good attention to visitor safety.

The garden is gorgeous, and the quiet was a real bonus. The hotel is charming and very well cared for, and we loved our stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Marco, who looked after us so well at dinner. Don't miss dining at the hotel. The chef clearly puts care into the delicious food, and the meals were divine, served at a great pace. It's been a long time since we've had service, attention to detail, and food quality like this. A precious place that made our holiday memorable. Grazie 🩷

We were only there for one night on our way to Orta, but I'd definitely come back. It's surprising to find a hotel of this quality in such a small hillside village. It wouldn't feel out of place in Milan. The lounge areas downstairs are really nice, which helps since the room wasn't huge, though it was perfectly adequate, newly redecorated, and very comfortable. The grounds, including the pool, are gorgeous. The staff were friendly and helpful, and dinner in the restaurant was just as high quality as the rest of the hotel.
