The rooms were clean and well kept, and some of the waiters were professional and courteous. Most of the rest of our stay was extremely disappointing, and it seemed to point to serious management shortcomings. The hotel knew two months ahead that a large group with many children would fill it completely, but there were no activities or suitable facilities ready for the kids. They hadn’t even considered simple options like renting table tennis, Twister or a PlayStation. Dinner was a multi-course meal like the adults’ and took around 120 minutes. When the kids got up and played in the lobby while waiting 30-40 minutes for the next course, reception staff reacted inappropriately instead of offering a simple kids’ menu served all at once. At the self-service breakfast, some tables were reserved for “certain” guests despite the limited number available. That felt very unprofessional. We also weren’t allowed to have two cocktails in the restaurant alongside guests who had come from outside the hotel, an unnecessary and unpleasant restriction. The hot appetizer was pasta every day. Even in Italy, that got tiresome without any variety. Staff English was very limited, making communication difficult and falling short of what I’d expect from a hotel in this category. We’ll go elsewhere next time.
