The view from my bedroom balcony was breathtaking, whether the day was sunny or a little rainy. I was only in Artena briefly and don’t speak Italian, but the family running Relais il Monaco made me feel at home. Breakfast was always delicious, with fruit from their garden, tasty cappuccinos, and friendly conversation, using Google Translate in my case, haha. They and the locals were kind and welcoming to me as a solo traveler. I highly recommend staying at Relais il Monaco instead of an impersonal hotel chain. Grazie Mille 😊

One small challenge is getting there with little kids. The historic center is closed to vehicles, so you have to walk up through the charming alleys. That uphill walk is part of the town’s character, though. The B&B itself is charming, with friendly, hospitable staff, spotless rooms, and a breathtaking view from the window. Highly recommended.

Fairytale! That’s the word for my stay at Relais Il Monaco. In Artena, the rooms have wonderful views, a lovely sense of peace and quiet, and that fresh, clean scent. Highly recommended ❤️

The location is perfect for a weekend away from it all, exploring unique streets steeped in history. We spent one night at this fantastic Relais and were extremely satisfied. Mrs. Grazia was friendly and welcoming, and the room had a breathtaking view. It was clean and simple, with everything we needed, and the bathroom was comfortable and super clean too. Breakfast was satisfying and authentic. We’ll return as soon as we can.

Getting to the property takes a short walk, which gives you a chance to appreciate how unique the place is. It’s in an ancient village, and the renovated rooms are carefully maintained and fit perfectly into the original setting. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the friendly owner prepares an excellent, plentiful breakfast with great care. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, like being at home.
