Victoria Resort

Lunch was good.

We got a nicer room than expected when we arrived, which was a lovely surprise. The place has a pleasant, spacious resort feel, and the staff are very friendly and clearly make an effort for their guests. Breakfast was excellent, though the coffee disappointed a bit. The hotel does feel dated, and the beds were hard. It was noisy too, so we didn't sleep well. A mixed stay, with the service, atmosphere, and upgrade on the plus side, but room for improvement elsewhere.

Andrea is always around and very helpful, and the staff were both friendly and professional. We stayed a week and had a wonderful time. The bistro food was delicious, made with fresh, well-balanced ingredients, and had that home-cooked, grandma's-kitchen feel. Rooms were clean and had every comfort. The pool was clean too, and the property is surrounded by greenery, so it was genuinely relaxing. It's only a few minutes from Marina di Ascea's pedestrian area. We didn't stay overnight, but we did come for the pool and lunch at the bistro after the sea got too rough. We called to check whether pool-only access was possible, and both the person on the phone and the one who greeted us were really kind. Entry was reasonably priced at €10 per adult. The pool is nicely laid out and a good size for a resort pool, though obviously not Olympic-sized. Lunch at the bistro was delicious. Next time we'd like to try staying in a room too. Given the service, we're guessing it should be up to par. 5 stars.
