Appartamenti Poggio Fiorito

We used the place as a base for trips around Umbria, with Perugia about 25 minutes away and Assisi roughly five minutes by car. A small supermarket is just a two-minute drive, handy for picking up lunch sandwiches. The Eremo delle Carceri above Assisi is close by and worth seeing, especially early in the morning when it's cool and quiet. The views from the terrace and pool across the valley to Assisi's skyline are beautiful. We often sat outside in the morning light or after a day out. The hilltop breeze and shaded spots helped in the July heat, and the pool area was lovely for cooling off. The property is a small agriturismo on a hill, simple and peaceful, and it was clearly well cared for. The host was warm and friendly without hovering. Breakfast was a simple but thoughtful buffet with fresh fruit, cereals, nuts, coffee, and tea, served outside under the trees overlooking the valley. The Assisi-Spoleto bike path runs nearby and is a beautiful route, though I'd strongly suggest an e-bike unless you're very fit. A car is more or less essential, since public transport doesn't get up here easily and walking along the road isn't ideal. For us, it was a quiet, comfortable countryside base close to Assisi, remote but accessible.

The rooms or apartments were clean and comfortable, and the service was very kind. The pool was excellent too. A great place to stay when visiting Umbria, highly recommended.

We've spent a few days at Country House Poggio Fiorito for Ferragosto two years running, and we'll definitely return. Stefania was just as helpful, kind, and considerate this year as last. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and breakfast was good. We also had a great Ferragosto barbecue. The pool was lovely in the August heat, with steps into the water that make it suitable for all ages. It's easy to find and quiet at night, though you can occasionally hear the pigs next door. Spello is the nearest town and lovely to visit, and Assisi is an obvious nearby stop.
