The breakfast was generous, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Francesco was very polite and professional, and I couldn’t spot a single flaw. We’ll absolutely come back. The setting is fabulous, and I highly recommend it.

The pool was a lovely part of the stay, with different places to sunbathe or sit in the shade and look out toward Assisi. We spent 6 days and 5 nights with Francesco and his family and had a wonderful time. The B&B is tucked into peaceful countryside, yet well placed for visiting the prettiest villages. Our room was small, but just right for us as a couple with a young child, and had everything we needed. Francesco even lent us the crib his children had used when they were little. He made breakfast himself each day, with lots of sweet and savory things, and spoiled us throughout our stay. We’ll definitely return.

The pool looks out toward Assisi and the Santa Maria degli Angeli church. The property itself is beautiful, set among the Umbrian countryside.

Francesco was always around when we needed him and was very friendly. We spent three days here in May, enjoying the quiet setting and the lovely view of Assisi. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent, with delicious cakes and pizzas that Francesco had made. The Ripani family.

I’ve been staying at La Gioiosa on my trips to Assisi for years. The setting, nature, and views are enchanting, and the owner is caring. There’s a pool, the location is excellent, and the food is authentic. I recommend it to everyone.
