B&B Lavanda e Rosmarino

The location and the view are the best things here. Even putting the other issues aside, it’s still a pretty good place because of where it is. But our stay didn’t match what I’d read in the reviews, so I want to describe it for people choosing accommodation. The welcome felt cold and indifferent. Rooms are noisy: I could feel a phone vibrating in the next room, and a neighbor flushing the toilet was really loud. Cleanliness needs work too. There was mold near the window, hair in the bathroom, dirty yellow grout in the shower, and dirt and leaves at the house entrance. Breakfast was coffee or tea, packaged items, and yogurt. I’m sorry, but I felt I had to give an objective account.

It’s a welcoming B&B on a farmhouse in the quiet countryside, with spectacular views across the Umbrian valley. The center is about a 10-minute walk uphill. On holidays, walking is probably best since parking is difficult and even paid lots fill up quickly. A good option if you’re visiting Assisi and nearby towns.

Michela was a very kind and helpful host, and there was plenty of greenery and quiet around the place. We appreciated the free parking, the abundant breakfast with homemade tarts, and the coffee and cappuccino maker. The room had an ensuite bathroom, and having keys to both the house and room gave us full independence. Assisi is only 1 km away, though driving is best. The room was freezing when we arrived, with mold throughout the room and bathroom. The shower seals need work to prevent flooding, some pillowcases were dirty, and the room could have been cleaned better, as there were cobwebs. Still an experience we’d repeat!

The lady’s organization around payment and check-in was much appreciated, especially with a late arrival and early departure. It’s a quiet spot in the Assisi hills, and the cleanliness was unlike anything I’ve seen. Breakfast is all packaged, but there’s a good selection. No savory choices, though.
