Casa Dolce Chiara

The location on Piazza Santa Chiara is the main draw. You can see the church from both windows, as shown in the profile photo, and it's easy to get around Assisi from here. Getting in means using a ramp, but it's manageable even with luggage since the steps aren't high or numerous. For loading and unloading, temporary parking is just a few steps away in the square. Paid parking is a short walk down the street, through a tunnel and then an elevator. The house was clean, well-maintained, and recently renovated despite being in a historic building. Sounds from people passing through the square are rare and very muffled, so we slept well and found it relaxing and quiet. The owners were helpful. They contacted us by phone, though our check-in and check-out were done through a safety deposit box. I'd suggest adding some extra soap and cleaning supplies, since there was only dish soap, and a bottle of water or a welcome gift. We found salt, sugar, and coffee, which is less than is usually provided these days. Definitely recommended.
