Being right beside the main square puts Hotel Il Vicoletto in the heart of Assisi, which I think is a fair tradeoff for a small, simple room. It has a real bed and breakfast feel, with the restaurant downstairs and rooms above. The included breakfast was a simple Italian one, but there was plenty laid out and we were well looked after. The staff were incredibly kind and handled our requests several times, from calling a taxi to holding our luggage and letting us drop into the room late. For couples on a budget pilgrimage, I don't think you could ask for a more comfortable option.

A great place, clean, pleasant, and comfortable. The breakfasts were tasty and there was lots of food 😁

The place is good and so is the service, but the Wi-Fi is weak.

The staff were genuinely hospitable, and the central location among Assisi's characteristic lanes is fantastic. Our room was spacious and had what we needed for sleeping and showering, but the furnishings are quite dated and could use an update. We arrived in the morning, but the room wasn't ready until 2:00 PM, so we had to find somewhere outside to store our luggage. It would've helped if, when we called, the property had offered to leave the bags in its basement, even without supervision and at our own risk. That would've saved us some inconvenience. Still, it's a good base for visiting the city, and I'd ask about availability if I return to the area.
