The staff were unbelievably kind. They offered to get up early to make me breakfast and even offered me a ride to the train station. When I cut my thumb, they also gave me medical care. The room was nice, clean, and cozy, and there’s a nice restaurant on site. It’s only a 10 or 15 minute walk uphill to Assisi and the St Francis Basilica. I’d recommend this place to anyone!

Each part of lunch felt just right, from the wine to the food and the service. The proprietors greeted us warmly as they were putting out fresh bread, and we had a nice table where we talked about local Umbrian wines. More guests arrived as we settled in, and then the wine and courses came one after another. This was Thursday, 20 April 2023, a warm day, and my wife and I were the first to arrive after walking around Assisi and the Basilica all morning and coming down the hill for lunch. It’s not a “haute cuisine” place, but the food and wine are handled with real care and goodness. I’ve never had a better overall experience.

We’ll be back. It’s a simple, family-run hotel close to the Cathedral, and the breakfast was delicious. We loved it.
