It was a shame the weather turned and we couldn’t use the pool. Still, this is a quiet, restful place with lovely hosts, tasty homemade meals, and several attractions nearby. If we’re in the area again, we’ll definitely stay here.

The rooms were certainly clean, and the accommodation price seems reasonable if you’re there for the pool. But the kitchen was dreadful for self-catering: not even salt, oil, or hot water, and there wasn’t a single consumable item, not even a dishcloth. The restaurant food is tasty but far too expensive. At €35pp, you can get Michelin guide food in Assisi, and this felt like double what it should cost. I’ve eaten much better for under half the price at proper trattoria along real roads. For the wine, check the shop in Passiaggio to see what it costs. It’s sold through a petrol station hose. These problems connect because food isn’t always available. We asked for dinner and couldn’t get it one day, so we had to cook for ourselves in a kitchen without even salt.

Dinner here was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, served by the most gracious hosts, like nonna. Do yourself a favor and eat here. The price was super low compared with American prices, especially for such high-quality food: truffle pasta, my favorite, rabbit stew, two desserts, charcuterie, and a bottle of wine. They were also so kind about making a meal for our toddler. We ate outside under the beautiful gazzebo because our little one was screaming from jet lag, and they even had cars for them to play with between plates. Another magical place I. Assissi!

I could happily have dinner there every night. Such a great experience, with fantastic food and lovely staff. Livia is simply amazing, and the local Umbrian dinner was just perfect.
