Dina helped us get into the hotel after we arrived in the dark on a January night without a reservation. The front desk had closed after the last expected arrival, but she answered the phone and explained in good English how to enter and find our key. We checked in the next morning, and Marta was friendly and helpful with check-in and breakfast. This is a very Italian, old-fashioned hotel, and it may not suit every American traveler. The room wasn’t large, the stairs were steep, and the shower was small for me at 6' 2", though it had hot water and good pressure. The buffet was modest but tasty and perfectly adequate. Our room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and there were plenty of towels. It was below freezing outside, but the extra blanket kept us warm and cozy. We’ll remember this as one of our favorite stays on our recent six week trip to Italy.

The location was great, but the room was cramped enough that I had to put one of our two suitcases on the bed just to make space to walk around. There was no air conditioning, and the ceiling fan couldn’t cool the room after our daily walks in 84-degree weather. The shower felt tiny even though I’m only 5'5. When we arrived, nobody was at the desk; there was just an envelope with the keys and instructions. The person we met the next morning was dismissive and didn’t help with our questions. It felt more like an air bnb, with breakfast as the only customer service, and we didn’t even know breakfast was offered until we woke up. The listing said breakfast in room, but I’m not sure what that means. My booking.com reservation didn’t label the room as economy or mention it was a cheap room. The details I referred to were in your booking.com ad.

The breakfast was okay, though the coffee was instant. And don’t count on the free parking unless you fancy an obstacle course on foot. Just head to the closest parking option on Maps and pay, you’re worth it.

Assisi is a city unlike anywhere else, so don’t miss it. This place is in just the right spot, with clean, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a great price. Excellent!

A very nice place, with a pleasant breakfast. The rooms are simple, but they do the job.
