Appartamento Centrale con garage

The owners were lovely and gave us useful tips on what to see and how to get around. My husband and I spent four days in their clean, quiet, welcoming apartment right in the center. It was also handy for a trip to Alba, about a 30-minute drive away. Very good value, and we’d recommend it.

We only stayed briefly, but had such a good time. Laura was warm and helpful, and the apartment was lovely and practical, with shops and the train station just steps away. It’s easy to get around on foot or by train, and would work for a longer visit too. Excellent value! 😀

Friday, December 17, 1999. After walking around the city, we came back to the hotel. The receptionist, a quiet and polite woman who was probably the owner, stood behind the counter with her 16-year-old son. We talked about school and his classes. He said he liked math, and that the best math student in his class was an Albanian from Tirana whose mother was a teacher. That moved me. I taught him something about math he hadn’t known. My conversation with that boy remains my warmest memory of the stay. The hotel itself was on Via Broffeiro, a useful reference point for getting around, and we had booked two nights there. On Thursday, December 16, 1999, we met our colleague Montaldo at Porta Nova station in Turin, and he walked us over after greeting us. You entered through a metal gate into a small area with stairs and an elevator. Reception and a little breakfast room were on the first floor. It wasn’t a new place, and I think it was a three-star hotel. The comfort was acceptable, the food delicious, the service adequate, and the city location very convenient. The water didn’t have the odor of Florence.

The owner is lovely and takes care with all the details. The apartment is spotless, bright, and roomy, with a kitchen stocked with what you might need. It’s centrally placed and also close to the train station. We’ll be back for sure, highly recommended.
