The owner was pleasant and did everything he could for us, and the place was clean and tidy. It’s quite old-fashioned, but breakfast was nice. We’d booked mainly because we hoped to cool off in the pool after riding in 40-degree heat all day, but it was being refurbished. There was no air conditioning in the room either, just a fan moving the hot air around. It was a nice place to stop, though the pool situation was a shame.

We could see the mountains from our balcony, and Casa Tavasso felt like a little English cottage set down in Italy. There’s a simple, friendly atmosphere that made it feel like home. We’d love to return and stay longer, taking time to relax in this small paradise not too far away. The owner was lovely and keen to make sure we had what we needed. Our room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was fully equipped and clean. The towels had been dried in the garden and still carried its scent. Breakfast was arranged to suit us. There was fresh homemade bread, a good range of Italian cheeses and ham, and also cereal, yogurt, fruit juice, coffee, tea, and milk hot or cold, with or without chocolate.

The one thing that bothered me was the poor lighting around the house. Arriving at night, it was hard to see much. Otherwise everything was fine. The host was very nice, though he’d broken his leg and was in a wheelchair. The room was clean and nicely decorated, and the site listed free Wi-Fi.

The people running the place clearly care about their work, and that made the stay very pleasant. The rooms were fine, although the mosquito screens were broken and the air conditioning wasn’t very powerful. We’d recommend a trip to Monforte d'Alba, Barolo and La Morra, and a wine tasting at Concito Dario for €10 per person. Enjoy the region!

A country-style inn at a reasonable price, with a big room and a wonderful breakfast. The owners were welcoming, and the atmosphere was quiet. Bravo to them.
