Luna Del Belvedere

The low price comes with a lot to put up with. It’s a sixth-floor apartment being used for room rentals, with bright, unironed sheets, mismatched beach towels, and one bathroom shared by all three rooms. The toiletries come in supermarket-style packaging, the snacks are discount-store stuff, and the coffee machine needs topping up. Run out of water and, as I was told, “Use the bathroom water, it’s drinkable!” At night, there’s a fight at the bar downstairs. Three stars?

A lovely view from the window, and such a calm place to come back to after a day out. I needed a proper rest and slept well. The receptionist was warm and welcoming, and my clean, pleasant room had everything I needed and then some. A good pick for a few days.

The room was almost perfect, and the price felt very fair. The only thing missing was a kitchen, but that wasn’t enough to take away a star for me. The staff were especially helpful. If I’m back in town, I already know where I’ll stay :)

The bathroom was freezing compared with the hot bedroom, and the room itself was dirty. Two nights ago I woke up with another woman’s hair in my mouth. I feel sick thinking about it. We knew the bathroom was shared, but since we were sharing the apartment with other people (luckily, there weren’t any), I expected it to be cleaned. There was nothing. The place is in a sixth-floor building with no sign. I can’t understand the 8.4 rating or how this is listed as a 3-star hotel on Booking.com. Maybe the people who rated it well have never stayed in a 3-star place. One star might fit, or maybe it shouldn’t be rated at all. An experience to FORGET.
