Palazzo Ferraioli Hotel & Wellness Center

We’d just reached Atrani and weren’t sure where to head when Maria spotted us and showed us how to find the hotel. She even carried our heavy suitcases all the way from the bridge, up all those flights of stairs. We were so grateful. At the hotel we got a warm welcome, and Carlo took our bags up to the room for us. Superb service, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Atrani!

Our fourth floor room had a beautiful sea view, and the rooftop terrace was amazing. The place was super clean and quiet, and the staff were so nice and helpful. Amalfi is about a 10 minute walk away. I’d recommend staying here, as long as you’re okay with lots of walking and stairs.

Atrani is a special place, and this hotel gave us a chance to enjoy it at its best. Carlo, one of the attendants, went out of his way more than once to make us feel welcome and treat us with kindness and respect. The whole staff were lovely. I’d recommend it to anyone who can manage the stairs, which you do need to be able to walk.

The room had the best view I’ve ever seen, and this is a lovely hotel. The daytime front desk woman was kind and hospitable. We also appreciated the rooftop staff who served and greeted us, along with the porters. But the evening front desk woman was one of the rudest people I’ve encountered at a hotel. Her behavior took what would have been a completely glowing review and soured it. There was a serious concern during our stay that led to a police response. It turned out to be a misunderstanding, and we didn’t blame the hotel for what had happened, since situations like that can be caused by guests and we had no way to know who was responsible. Still, when we reported it, the evening receptionist was dismissive and barely spoke to us, addressing only the police in Italian. I kept asking what was happening because the matter felt serious, but she talked past us as if our concern was nonsense and a waste of her time. Her disregard for our safety was striking. I tried to explain that we weren’t blaming the hotel, and she looked through me with contempt. It was hurtful, especially when I was trying to be charitable about a grave situation. To her credit, she eventually understood our concern and offered us drinks. We appreciated that gesture, but it didn’t undo how she had treated us up to that point. We were a newly engaged couple, and our stay mattered to us. She made us feel unwelcome, with a thinly veiled hostility, and seemed to have no patience or respect for guests who trust the hotel with their safety and experience. The first clear instance of this attitude came when I asked about the spa. The spa was still open, so I asked whether the jetted tub was available. At first she didn’t understand, then told me it wasn’t, which was completely understandable. What felt unkind was how terse and annoyed she was in answering a simple question. As soon as we entered the lobby, we could see her in the staff area behind the desk rolling her eyes and acting exasperated before coming over. This was one of about three interactions where she treated us as if we were a gnat bothering her.
