Hotel Venus Sea Garden

The sea is incredibly clear, and you can see 20' underwater. Getting to it isn’t easy, but with an adventurous spirit, the place will charm you. Exploring the surroundings takes a hard hike, but it’s well worth it. We loved it! The hotel was clean and nice, the bed was comfortable, and the area is incredible. The crew were super friendly, and Carmine kept us charmed with treats and jokes the whole time. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

The location on the rocky promontory is lovely, but the advertised bathing platform wasn’t there. The pool area also seemed poorly looked after, and I never saw anyone clean the pool. There’s nowhere nearby to escape for a decent evening meal. Three members of staff were brilliant, but the hotel seemed to care very little about its guests, and they couldn’t make up for it. Our half-board food was dire. Breakfast was the same dull spread each day: cheap cereal and bread, only sweet croissants, fruit that wasn’t ripe, and unpleasant scrambled eggs and bacon swimming in fat. Dinners were often reheated versions of the previous night’s meal. The room was miserable and dark. Honestly, don’t go here. The food was as cheap as it gets. Avoid this hotel.

My wife and I stayed for 10 days in October 2019. The breakfast terrace had a good view of the sea and Etna, and the coffee was perfect. Our room was cleaned well. But there was NO BEACH AT ALL!!! Getting there by car was confusing, too. Google Maps sent us along a dirt road that was blocked by a barrier, so keep that in mind if you rent a car. We found the proper road without too much trouble, but it wasn’t a very welcoming start at Venus sea garden. Breakfast was poor and not tasty, with cold becon and a burnt omelet every day. There were 2 bot. of water in the room bar, but nowhere did it say they weren’t included, so we got a surprise bill at checkout. The furniture was very old, flimsy, and creaky, making it a problem to open the locker while someone was sleeping. Sicily is a great place for a couple to stay and travel. Next time I’ll book an apartment or villa, since the prize is cheaper and the service is THE SAME.

We visited as a family in the off-season, at the End of october 2019. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was good quality. Unfortunately, the hotel has no direct beach access. You can only get there via private property and rock climbing. I’d recommend the hotel for couples, business trips, or relaxing. There aren’t many activities for families.
