The house is pleasant, though it could be cleaner. And the breakfast doesn’t live up to the homepage description of “everything your heart desires.”
It seems like a wonderful place.
The house itself is beautiful, spacious, well looked after, and fully equipped, with several terraces facing the sea. It dates back to the early 1900s, and Augusto, the friendly German Shepherd, is good company too. Primo Passo sits in a handy spot on Sicily’s eastern coast, between Catania and Syracuse, Taormina and Capo Passero, Caltagirone and Scicli. Giuseppe is a friendly, engaging host. We joined a Sicilian Tarot tournament and went canoeing with him. If you’re after rocky shores, quiet, and a bit of rest, the sea is only 50 meters away, and it’s spectacular. There are two bars nearby, though they open slowly. They specialize in Scacciate, pizza you can fill as you like. Uno due 2 also makes delicious pizza in the evenings, while the other place serves simple seafood.
The canoe trip to the nearby coves is a must. Giuseppe is a wonderful, friendly owner who’s always happy to share what makes the area special. A fantastic place to unwind.
