Agriturismo La Selva

This is my second year in a row stopping for dinner and a night at this charming agriturismo on the road between Parma and Livorno, where I catch the ferry to Sardinia. It gives me a relaxing break on the journey with my dogs. The food is prepared with care and is excellent, and the price is lower than the food quality suggests. They accommodate gluten allergies, and the staff are extremely kind. On the little road to La Selva, we were greeted by two wild boar pups and the owner's dog, who chased them away. If you're passing through Aulla, I highly recommend stopping by.

Valentina's skilled cooking brings out wonderful flavors in simple dishes rooted in local tradition. The ingredients are carefully sourced, from flour and meat to vegetables and condiments, and the food is top quality. Portions and prices both feel just right. There's a good selection of wines and the service is very attentive. You can also buy plenty of their own products, including pickled vegetables, jams, sauces, and pasta made with their own flours.

A lovely place surrounded by greenery, with a familiar, relaxing atmosphere. The food is simple, genuine and carefully made. The appetizers, local cured meats and homemade pasta were fantastic, and the quality for the price is truly excellent. A real gem, highly recommended!

We tried the agriturismo a few weeks ago, and the food was generally good. There were eight of us, and we ordered eight appetizers, some first courses, second courses and desserts, plus two bottles of house wine and a quart of wine. The bill came to €37 per person, including four house nocino liqueurs, which was definitely too expensive.
