Quinz - Locanda Al Lago

The food is decent, with quite a selection of pizzas, and the location is pleasant for sitting down to eat after a hike with a nice view. The real problem is the staff. I come from a hospitality background, and the service here was horrible. They seemed unhappy, though I can't tell whether it was because of their work or because people came in to eat. They snapped when I asked for a table, never smiled, and just tossed the menu onto the table. Nobody checked whether we needed anything else or whether the food was okay. This could be a really good place if the staff's attitude changed. Don't be surprised if you feel unwelcome.

We paid a premium price and expected basic hospitality, but the service didn't meet that expectation. Three times, our order came out wrong, and rather than apologizing, the staff made us feel it was our fault. In the morning, we weren't even allowed to have a coffee, which seemed unnecessarily unfriendly. The sofa bed had no sheets or linen, so we had to ask for basic bedding, and our group of four was given just one room key. It made things needlessly complicated. Overall, the experience fell short of what we'd expect from a professional hospitality business.

The food here is tasty across the board, from soups, pasta and pizza to steak and desserts. It has that super tasty home-cooked feel. Highly recommended. I'll be back soon.

Great view, lovely food, and very efficient staff. Be sure to take a walk around the lake.
