We came looking for somewhere to explore the Perugia region, having never stayed here before, and found Masseria Bosco e Strazzati to be much more than a convenient base. The setting is beautiful, with an old olive farm and vineyard around carefully restored buildings. Our accommodation was very comfortable, and the team, led by Leticia, were friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. Chef Mimmo’s food was up to Michelin standards. We have nothing negative to say, and this was one of our most pleasant stays in Italy. Thanks to the whole team.

It’s a stunning place, surrounded by so many olive trees that it feels like a little piece of heaven. The room was beautiful and very clean, and the food was fresh and delicious. We ate in the restaurant almost every evening. The friendly staff clearly enjoy working there, and being welcomed by a real Italian Mama, her daughter, and their cat made us feel part of the family right away. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

There were a lot of little things that kept this from feeling like a true 4-5 star place. We checked in at 1400, but there was no food available, not even a suggestion of a platter, and we were sent to a petrol station to eat. We were staying in the next building, about a 10-minute walk away, and had dinner reservations. The weather was miserable, but nobody offered the two-minute car ride. The shower/tub in the bathroom had massage, spa, or steam functions that didn’t work. The workers seemed as if they were there as punishment, with little joy or smiling. They offered a welcome drink, but I was told beer was excluded and charged 4.5e/person. So what was actually included as a welcome drink? At breakfast, a big sign said “2 warm drinks per person.” There were plastic flowers in the dining area with the price tags still hanging on them. These small details made the place feel more like a 3-star stay.

The best part was the service. Thanks to Piera Angela, probably spelled incorrectly, for the helpful tips and good conversation. The rooms were nice and interesting, and the site has a great restaurant and an awesome pool.

A wonderful pool area and a beautiful property in a great location. It’s a genuinely authentic place, with an excellent restaurant and great service from the owner and her team. We had a great four-night stay.
