Green Hotel Ninfa

We found this place by booking at the last minute while driving through on the motorway, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The rooms were huge and comfortable, there's plenty of parking, and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was great, especially the fresh orange juicer and delicious coffee. A great pizza restaurant is nearby, and the hotel is easy to reach from the motorway. Despite that, there was no road noise in the rooms.

A convenient stop on the way to Tuscany, and I'd probably stay again. The suite was very nice, but we couldn't adjust the air conditioning ourselves. We had to call reception to choose a temperature, and when it didn't work, we ended up opening the window onto a noisy road. Breakfast was a bit frustrating too, since the food wasn't replenished very quickly. Also, there's no restaurant on Sundays.

The people here are really nice and helpful, and the rooms are nice too. Breakfast isn't very big, but what they serve is tasty. You can't adjust the air conditioning temperature yourself, which is the only problem. I really enjoyed my stay.

The good parts first: the rooms are big, with nice views even though there are factories in the foreground. The hotel is modern and clean, the bed is excellent, and the wifi is good. But there was no remote for the TV, and the walls had those “tasteful” nude pictures. Breakfast was cold and poor, served in a cavernous dining room with spare beds stacked in one corner. Tables weren't cleared, and even basics like croissants weren't refilled. Sigh.
