The apartment was poorly equipped, and I can’t recommend it. Communication was awful: I tried Booking.com, email, and WhatsApp to get check-in information, without success. The agency finally sent a message only a few hours before we arrived, so I could relax after that. The woman who handed over the keys spoke only Italian. That’s a broader problem in Sicily, not just her. She asked us for €100 for check-in, bed linen, and cleaning after we left. I’ve never encountered that in my life, so the Booking.com price isn’t the whole cost. There was also a €300 agency deposit. I travel a lot and have never had to pay an accommodation deposit before.
