The best part of our three nights at Plaza Rooms was waking up above the pastry shop and having granitas and brioches for breakfast. Mr. Corrado was there when we arrived and kindly offered us breakfast straight away. Our room looked out over the main square, with a double bed and a single bed, and there was enough space. Despite the square and the bar below, we weren’t bothered by noise. The stairs up are narrow, though manageable, but could be tricky with little kids or a stroller. In the evenings, after sightseeing, we’d stop for a drink at the bar below and enjoy the fresh air in Avola’s lovely piazza. It’s also a handy base for visiting nearby towns and beautiful beaches.

The pastry shop downstairs does a great breakfast, whether you fancy cappuccino and brioche or one of the granita col tuppo flavors. The rooms are right in the town center, which is ideal, but the stairs up are narrow and steep. They wouldn’t suit young children or older people. If you don’t have mobility problems, though, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Our next bike ride through beautiful Avola is already on my mind. The secure, guarded bike parking was a real plus, and we felt safe and well looked after. Corrado and his staff were kind and professional, and the price felt more than fair for the place and services. Breakfast was excellent, with granitas from the excellent pastry shop in the same building. Waking up to the lovely square in Avola and the smell of brioches from the family-run shop was a treat. We felt right at home here. The owner and staff were always available and so kind. The location is really convenient, and breakfast was exceptional. Everything from their pastry shop was delicious and top quality.

The breakfast was generous and excellent, especially the spectacular croissants made on site. The waiters Corrado and Thomas were always kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and welcoming, and the place itself is lovely. The owner was very kind too. I’d recommend it to anyone.
