Farmhouse Plang B&B

We had a great time here. The homemade breakfast was delicious, and there was plenty of parking. The location worked perfectly for exploring the Dolomites. Our room was spacious and spotless, with comfortable beds and two pillows for each of us. The bathroom was modern and really clean, and the family who runs the farm made us feel so welcome. The building itself looks new and modern too.

We booked a weeklong family holiday after seeing the photos and strong reviews for the main Plang Farmhouse complex, but we left early after being put in another building next door without any warning. We thought we had three rooms, but it was two bedrooms and a kitchen. It was in much worse shape and clearly dated, with a worn bathroom and tiny rooms. The place looked nothing like what had been advertised, and there was no clear link or photos showing this separate property. We tried to sort it out calmly and agreed to leave early, paying for the one night we stayed. At checkout, though, the owner, Mrs. Angela, shouted offensive things at us in Italian. It was upsetting and completely unnecessary after we'd been respectful. This was disappointing and may violate Italian consumer protection law, Legislative Decree 206/2005, Articles 21-22, on misleading commercial practices. The main farmhouse may be a good place, but make sure you're not assigned to another building. Our long-planned holiday was ruined, and I hope another family doesn't have the same experience.

We came back a year later and the place was still just as good. This time we had the pinecone room, which smelled amazing, and the bed was every bit as cushy as I remembered. I forgot to mention breakfast in my earlier review: homemade cakes, fresh produce, eggs made to order, Austrian-style breakfast sandwiches, a juicer, lattes, and lots of sweet and savory choices. On our first stay, we had the sheep-themed room, which was hilarious, and a nice mountain view from the balcony. The cleaner did such a great job, even folding our towels and blankets into different shapes each day like on a cruise. Breakfast was varied and really good, with meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt, cakes, and more. After a full day hiking, that super-soft bed felt like a giant pillow, and I didn't want to get up. You can see the cable car from the front door, and it took us up to one of the most beautiful hikes of our trip, with tons of lovely flowers in July. I'd go again.

San Cassiano is quieter and smaller than Corvara, but it still has all the amenities and a really cute pedestrian area. From Plang, the ski lift is an easy walk. The place is very comfortable, and the young family running it is lovely. We'd happily stay here again.
